Mishawaka, Ind., May 02, 2023 –– AM General executives and the United Auto Workers Local 5 leadership hosted Representative Frank J. Mrvan (D-IN, District 1) today at AM General’s Mishawaka Manufacturing Campus (MMC) to provide an update on operations with the HUMVEE and the newly awarded Joint Light Tactical Vehicle A2 (JLTV A2) programs.

Along with a visit of the HUMVEE vehicle manufacturing line, Representative Mrvan was also able to tour the facility that will house JLTV A2 production and learn about the innovative manufacturing methods both in place and planned to ensure the company delivers a quality vehicle to the USG. Further, he addressed the hundreds of factory workers on hand and discussed with them the issues which affect them and their communities. Congressman Mrvan stated, “Thank you to all the leaders and workers at AM General for your steadfast commitment to the strength of our state’s manufacturing capabilities and our national defense. I applaud your essential work to keep our members of the Armed Forces safe in their duties and appreciate the opportunity to see your cutting-edge facilities and operations today. I will continue to do all I can to support you and your critical contributions to support workers, organized labor, the economic success, and safety of our nation.”

“We are honored and grateful to have Representative Mrvan join us today to witness firsthand our manufacturing expertise, and to speak to our skilled labor force that ensures we provide quality products to the Warfighter, known to us as SGT Smith,” said Jim Cannon, AM General President & CEO. “Rep. Mrvan is passionate about his constituents, which include the AM General workforce, and has always been a key advocate of the HUMVEE program. With the ramp up of the JLTV A2 program, we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with him.”
