Larry Platt is AM General’s Executive Vice President, International Defense. He joined AM General in April 2013 as Vice President, North American Business Development and Sales.

Prior to joining AM General, he was assigned to the Washington Operations Office of DRS Technologies as the Vice President of Marine Corps Programs, tasked with development of Marine Corps opportunities, managing customer relations and advising the individual lines of business in their pursuit of Marine Corps business. Prior to joining DRS, he was the Deputy Director, Logistics Integration Division, Combat Development and Integration Division, Expeditionary Force Development Center, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, where he was responsible for management of combat development activities for combat service support equipment in the Marine Corps. His functional areas of responsibility included motor transportation, engineer equipment, fuel and water distribution, medical, dental and chaplain requirements. He held this position from March 2004 until August 2006.

From August 2003 until March 2004, Larry worked as a Senior Functional Analyst with Jacobs Sverdrup in support of Marine Corps Systems Command. His team provided support to both program managers for CBRN and Medical equipment.

In October of 2003, Larry retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel after 21 years of service. He began his career as an Infantry Officer and upon augmentation became a Logistician. His operational tours were with the 1st and 3rd Marine Divisions and the 1st Force Service Support Group.

Prior to being commissioned in December 1982, Larry was employed as a Lieutenant in the City of Chester Pennsylvania Fire Department, where he worked in fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical services.

Larry has a Master of Management in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science from West Chester State University. He is a Graduate of Amphibious Warfare School and Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
