Directions from Indiana Toll Road (I-80-90)
Directions to AM General Track
- Get off the toll road at Exit 72.
- Take the Bypass south to the Rt. 31 exit.
- Take Michigan St. (933) north to Chippewa Ave.
- Turn left (west) on Chippewa.
- Continue west until you see sign by gate in chain link fence.
- Come to building visible as you enter.
Directions to HMMWV/H1 and HUMMER H2 Plants
- Exit from the toll road at exit #83 (Mishawaka).
- Go left (south) on Capitol Avenue to McKinley Avenue.
- Turn left (east) on McKinley Avenue and the HMMWV/H1 Assembly Plant
is about 1 ½-mile and on the right side of the road.
- About another quarter mile to the east is the HUMMER H2 Assembly Plant.
Directions to AM General Headquarters
- Get off at Exit 77 (Notre Dame).
- Turn right on Route 933.
- Continue about 4 miles into downtown South Bend.
- Turn left on Colfax.
- Continue two blocks (across river) to Niles Ave.
- Turn right on Niles Ave. to Visitors Parking Lot on left. Building
is on the right. (105 North Niles)
Directions to SPLO
Coming from the west
- Get off at Exit 72.
- Take bypass (U.S. 31 - U.S. 20) for several miles to Elm Road exit.
- Go left (north) on Elm Road to 12th Street.
- Turn left on 12th Street and continue to Byrkit Avenue.
- Turn right on Byrkit and continue to 408 S. Byrkit (SPLO) on right.
Coming from the east
- Get off at Exit 83 (Mishawaka)
- Turn left (south) on Capitol Avenue and go to Lincolnway West (after crossing river).
- Turn right on Lincolnway West and continue west for about 4 miles to Byrkit Street.
- Turn left at light at Byrkit St.
- Cross the tracks and SPLO building (408 S. Byrkit St.) will be on the left.
